Microsoft - Pack Your Bags
I must admit that I still use Microsoft Office for writing letters and making ridiculously simple spreadsheets. I don’t know why. However, I’m an unashamed fan of Microsoft OneNote, which is the best thing since sliced bread. I’ve been using it for over a year and have a HUGE document repository on it. Then came along Microsoft’s Foldershare and fixed the only missing link for OneNote to get even better. I could now keep my OneNote files synced between the laptop, home, and office PCs. Life was never so good. Until yesterday. I discovered EverNote.
I never realized how critical it was for me to be able to access my notes from the web as well. EverNote has given me a downloadable desktop application (available for various OSs) where I can maintain my complete Notes structure, and a single click synchronizes it with the online repository. Yaaaaayyyy! Evernote is not looking as slick as OneNote “YET”, but then it’s still in private beta. I did give Microsoft one chance by trying out their Office Live, but sadly it does NOT connect with OneNote. Oh well.
As of now, I’m keeping my notes in both OneNote and EverNote. I hope EverNote comes up with an “Import from OneNote” feature, and that would be the end of Microsoft Office for me. I also wish Google would come up with a desktop application for their Notebook, Bookmarks, etc.
If anyone is interested in EverNote, I have a few invitations.

I use OneNote and Google’s Notebook app. Heard good things about EverNote, but never got around to trying it.
