Life Statement
"What man is a man that doesn't change for the better the world he lives in?"

And we wonder why things never change in Pakistan

Mr. Jahangir Hanif is a 46 year old Pakistani millionaire and politician based in Glasgow. Mr. Hanif has also been campaigning against violent crime. Turns out , Mr. Hanif and family visited Pakistan on a vacation in 2005. During the trip, he took his 14 year old daughter Noor, 11 year old son Ameer, 10 year old daughter Zainab, 7 year old daugher Amina, and 5 year old daughter Sana, to Kashmir in a blacked-out vehicle to an alleged military-style training base in mountains near Kashmir. At the range all children were encouraged to fire a Kalashnikov (a.k.a. AK-47 assault rifle).

The proud father also took videos of the whole “training” trip. The video footage, passed to the Glasgow Evening Times, shows the youngest daughter Sana, who was 5 at the time, being helped to fire the gun.

Mr. Hanif is currently in Pakistan, and in a statement issued by the party, he said it was “foolish and inappropriate”, but he also said that the event took place over two years ago, long before he became a councillor.

Scottish Conservative justice spokesman Bill Atiken feels the action has made him unsuitable for public office. Mr. Hanif has been suspended by his party, while the newspapers have covered the story under the headline “Councillor Kalashnikov”.

It explains why the rich are the biggest rule violators in Pakistan.

Black & White Trouble

Black & White Guys

Ryan and Leo are the hottest dudes in the world today. They’re twin brothers born in Germany. One’s black and the other is white. I can’t help but think of this song.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why dont we?
We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in evryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive

Bangalore Blasts

7-July-2008 7 low intensity blasts hit Pakistan’s largest and most important city, Karachi.

25-July-2008 7 low intensity blasts have hit India’s I.T. capital of Bangalore.

Is Bangalore becoming a terror capital?

I know bombs are a bad thing, but I wish press and media would go easy on declaring cities “terror capitals”?  Pakistan, and Karachi in particular, have suffered terribly because of these hasty claims.

People’s Resistance Movment

Many people have started wondering what I have against Dr. Awab, and why am I constantly attacking his cause. I just want to clarify, that both Dr. Alvi Senior and Dr. Alvi Junior are personal friends of mine, and we just bounce “gup shup” off of each other. So, if any of you were hoping for some more interesting theory behind all this, I’m sorry to disappoint you.

With that said, I still stand, very vocally, against the People’s Resistance Movement, especially since I noticed their logo is like they’re damning “sending lanat” to the whole nation. But then that seems appropriate. No? Oooops… here I go again :-).
People's resistance movment damning the nation. :-)

K.E.S.C. Rip Off

I received my K.E.S.C. bills today, and then I read the newspapers. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.  The following clips are from today’s and yesterday’s newspapers.  I really suggest all Karachiites read all images carefully.  I love this democratic payment of a few billion Rupees to KESC in “subsidy“.  This is such a sad democratic slap for Karachi’s residents.  I wonder when the People’s Resistance Movement will organize a protest against this horrible act of dictatorship.

VBlog-003 National Insensitivity

18-April-2008. We stand on the street watching atrocities like they were some TV show. We don’t even bother to call emergency services. Why are we so insensitive? Is media responsible?

VBlog-002 Need for power

18-April-2008. The nation has no food, education, or health services, while the politicians are fighting over bullet-proof vehicles, and not enough police security. I’ve finally understood why people fight for power in Pakistan.

VBlog-001 Political Violence

10-April-2008. Another sad milestone in Karachi’s history. In the fight for power, more innocent lives were lost. Many lives were scarred forever. And for what?
