Congradulations! Thank you for coming back….Love to hear that voice and to see that smile! May God help and US help you in your mission…and I will start handing out candies to the kids on the street who beg, like you mentioned……:)

Congratulations! You are back with a bang!! good to see the show again… and the first show was good but lets not settle here… we need to tell everyone we are the best … yes we Pakistanis are the best… let’s make an effort and make sure we all are not just walking together but in the same direction towards a same goal which is nothing BUT a strong Pakistan…. Time to speak up , appreciate the good things we have here and change the ones we dont like much and lets just do it TOGETHER !!!!!!

Good luck!!!!!!

Natasha Rehmani

Cyma: Yes, we are all Together, let’s DO it together !!!

Mr. Faisal: Welcome Back…

Welcome back!!! may Allah bless u!!

ahhadhashmi

Welcome back, ek nae subah, ek nae umeed ke shama roshan hue hai ese hum sub ne mil kar aghe barana hai ur ese tarha es shama ko roshan rakna hai. Takhe har ane ane wale subah hamare lye ek nae umeed lekar aye.

Cyma. I fully agree. But, I’m not so sure if we’re really that good. We can’t also live in an illusion. However, I do agree that identifying problems alone is not a problem, but recognizing them is a crucial part of solving them.

Faisal … so u think there is NOTHING to appreciate? if your answer is YES thn it answers my question that why everyone around is so hopeless!!!

Natasha Rehmani

Agreed. And we have been identifying them for a long time. It’s time to recognize and start working on Solutions; we all know the Solutions too.

As for being the Best, I agree with Mr. Faisal that we can’t live in illusions, but I truly believe that we have all the potential to become ‘The Best’.

Welcome Back …. Hum Eik Hain …. Mabrook !!!

amalik.2006

Welcome back it was a pleasant experience, good and full of energy thoughts, this is what we need. Agree on most of the stuff on the show last night, hope to see good things coming out of that. We just have to recognize what good we are already doing and just start increasing the volume and frequency of it, thats how things change and as for the example you gave about giving out the tiki pack biscuits an excellent idea and this may can also contribute towards reducing the numbers of beggars on the streets. See this is what we need to be doing give practical examples which we are practicing no matter how small the idea is or may be how how stupid it sounds.

Keep it up Faisal you can be a role model and we need role models in our society since we dont have too many.

Regards

ruby

Welcome back Mr. Faisal Qureshi on a new channel, with the same spirit…..best wishes!

ruby

@Mr. amalik.2006—Mr. Faisal is a role model for us all.

amalik.2006

@ Ruby:: Yes he is and we need more of them like him.

sairaali

agreed that faisal may be like a role model but im sure there are lots of people amongst us all who have all the ingredients to become role models, maybe all they need is someone to give them that little push in the right direction and maybe that someone could be Faisal sb.

FQ

Cyma. There’s a time and place for everything. http://www.pakistaniprofiles.com is my personal project. http://www.gloriouspakistan.com/ is run by my brother-in-law. That should answer your question.

FQ

Look at tha Ankahi show listing. The whole purpose was to find role-models. Have I found any?

amalik.2006

@ FQ: Yes you might have had a lot of potential role models and excellent people on Ankahi, when I searched the definition of a Role Model following is what I found:
“” a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, esp. by younger people.”"
“” A person who serves as a model in a particular behavioral or social role for another person to emulate.”"
“”A person who serves as an example of the values, attitudes, and behaviors associated with a role. For example, a father is a role model for his sons. Role models can also be persons who distinguish themselves in such a way that others admire and want to emulate them. For example, a woman who becomes a successful brain surgeon or airline pilot can be described as a role model for other women.”"
Yes there were and are several role models, on the Ankahi show, some good and some bad (bad in reference to some of political figures you have had on your shows) but again a role model is who is famous as well such as I am a cricket lover and during my time we use to have posters of Zaheer Abbass, Majid Khan, Javed Miandad, Imran Khan and even Asif Masood in our room, in cricket we use to imitate these greats since they were our role models in cricket. I have personally use to see them play and have talked to them, you must agree these greats were bigger than life at that time when there was no media coverage, no money as compare to today in sports but they were role models. I remember if any one of them were scheduled to appear on PTV we use to look forward to see that program.

These are the people who can be National Role Models, yes everyone is a role model according to their environment and capacity as I am a role model for my kids, I can be a role model for my office coworkers, my employees and other surrounding me.

As for you FQ, you are a role model among the audience you have, you also proved to be one by listening to that young girl you mentioned about in your last night show and gave every credit to her for the idea she gave, people watching you on TV and listening to you, as a whole nation no buddy will listen to me since I am an average person but things coming out of a role model gets an extra emphasis and attention. I hope I was able to describe my feelings and understandings of a “Role Model”.

Regards

amalik.2006

BTW, not all of us became Zaheer Abbass or Majid Khan, but that doesn’t mean we should not have “Role Models”.

FQ

@Malik. A role model is one whose life you aspire to follow, mimic, or learn from, in totality or even partially.

amalik.2006

You got it absolutely right but there is one thing that a role model earn it’s stature and place in the society as a role model, it simply can not be forced upon, just as in your case my dear friend, you are not forced upon us you are an example and you have and is earning to be a role model to our society by spreading your positiveness, energy and the will to survive and change the norms for a better environment and society. (It’s a compliment FQ)

bilal

It was really good to see you back! :) I hope this programme is a success too.I think we should follow Quiad’s principles : Unity,Faith and Discipline. If we follow them we will prosper for sure! Please remind this to your viewers too.

Natasha Rehmani

Mr. Malik, where were you when we were discussing role models at PAM? The discussion is still there and I would appreciate if you can have a look. This topic is a Question Mark for me to date. Some people tried to sort this out for me but I would like you to give your comments too.

Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. But… :-) Role models don’t need stature in society. One could have an older sister as a role-model. Heroes have stature :-)

amalik.2006

@ Natasha: I dont know where I was at that time also it is hard to follow each and everything FQ has started and associated with at the same time and it is rather very convenient for me to go and check things on Facebook on daily basis since I use this for keeping in touch with a lot of other people I know in my life. But I will definitely look up PAM for the “Role Model”topic.

And for beloved FQ, yes sir your observation is part of the definition of “Role Model” and in my opinion and understanding we can follow role models at every level but for a nation there has to be a lot of heroes with great stature, bigger than life such as Sir Abdul Sattar Edhi, Imran Khan (Beside his political contribution, again my personal opinion), Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan, Ibrar-Ul-Haq, Shehzad Roy, etc, etc, we do have a long list of the heroes becoming role models for us at the national level.

Regards

sairaali

like faisal says it could be anyone around us who could be a role model and im sure that all of us have a number of people who are in our circle of influence.lets start by setting examples for them and they, in turn, will pass it along to people in their circle of influence and so on.
It’s time we actually start doing things rather than just talking about them!!!
long live Pakistan!!!

amalik.2006

Definitely yes we do need to and also try to become role models to others surrounding us who we can influence as well. Keep the good energy up, we all are in it together, one good thing is that we are being civilized about all our short comings in recognizing and you know all this can be contagious and will certainly effect others surrounding us.

Neither of them are role-models. They are heroes. They will become role-models when peoepl start following their roles. It takes a lot of sacrifice to become Edhi. I don’t know of any mother telling her children to follow Mr. Edhi’s path.

sairaali

@amalik, what is the one thing you will start doing from today that might influence those around you?
i shall start switching off any lights or fans/ac’s that are not really required.

amalik.2006

Respect people at every level and respect their rights and their existence. And there is not a question of starting it today. And as for the Role models vs Heroes, dear FQ it is a long discussion I beg your excuse for right now, not up to it.

Natasha Rehmani

Mr. Malik: Please continue all such valuable discussions at PAM. It’s worth it.

amalik.2006

Well Natasha, madam with all due respect to everyone, I seriously am not up to an argument since I don’t want to engage in to something which distract our thinking which is to bring everyone close to each other, learn to respect everyone’s right to an opinion even though we might disagree. The thing which I notice in our society is that we do not respect anyone’s space, to me if I make an appointment with a doctor that means that I have reserved that doctors time by paying his fees, but here no one realizes that since I have bought that time it belongs to me, if the time is set for 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm with the doctor that means if the doctor is coming in late or taking another patient at his will is like he is robbing me of my right. I as a customer needs to be compensated, it is me who is paying and hiring the doctor for that time.

I hope you are getting my point it is very difficult to understand us, I am bewildered and dumb found to understand what exactly our nation wants and what are the reasons behind not keeping our house clean, not respecting our national flag, not respecting prestigious offices such as PH, and others. I hope I am being clear enough to pass on my feelings. I moved back to Pakistan after a very long time in 2005, started an office here hired remarkable people to work with me, I was and am convince we do not lack in talent, education or will to make our country one of the best on the face of this earth, I had and still have people from across the board, people having Punjabi, Sindhi, Pathan and urdu speaking back ground, people from NED, FAST, Sir Syed, KU, PAF KIET, Usman Institute, etc., and these are wonderful people hard at work, innovative, have the will to succeed and leaders, I can assure you if it was up to me I will put the following restriction for our parliament:

. None of the representatives will be more than 35 years old.
. They have to have at least 4 years bachelors degree.
. The head of the state can not be more than 35 years old

And believe me there is no doubt in my mind that our country will be rid of all the problems and issues in 2 years, at every level these young educated people have a vision and they just need an opportunity to prove.

Now I have spoken my mind out and we can expect a critical review of my analysis here since it will sound childish to some, we actually have become a cult following nation, we don’t tolerate others, to me it looks like that we have gone through and systematic genetic degeneration, I don’t know whether it was done deliberately or not but thats what it feels like since we are day in and day out are in pursuit of defying even the laws of nature, let alone the laws of the country, let me try to give you an example, but first of all in advance apologies to all the motorcycle dare devils we have on the road, can someone please explain me that if I am riding a motorcycle and going 90 KmPH speed and if I hit a car or hit any other 4 wheeler or other way around, who will have the greater chance of getting severely hurt me riding the motorbike or the one who is driving the car?? To me it is just like you see the fire is burning but you would like to go and stick your hand in it to see how hot it is, I mean this so, so common sense but I don’t know what kind of world we have created and are living in, it is just like everyone is in a trans, as if people are on a journey and Pakistan is a 2 hour layover during their flight to some destination.

Anyways, yes first people become a hero and then they become a role model, there are quite a few people in our country who are trying to imitate likes of Imran Khan and others by trying to build hospitals, don’t have to name them we all know who they are, they might have not have the hospitals up and running right now but their intentions are there. So I don’t buy that we don’t have heroes and role models, the only thing is most of these types of things are done to gain personal benefits either money or fame, again my personal opinion. We need to glorify our role models and be proud of them, and BTW FQ is a role model.

Regards

Natasha Rehmani

Mr. Malik, thanks for sharing your views with us here.

1) I am sure you have all the potential to become a Role Model. You have these energetic youth working for you, for whom you can prove to be a Role Model. I assure you, that’s all you needed. You make these, may be 25 or 30 people, Good Citizens and Brand Ambassadors of Pakistan and your work is done. Seriously…

2) I completely agree with you that, “Common Sense is Very Uncommon”. But don’t worry, together we will sort that out too…

3) Arguments are an opportunity to learn. Therefore, it should never be siezed or discouraged. Specially coming from people like you, who have so much to offer, it’s a blessing. Though, I do agree that we MUST discourage things like “Hujjat” or “Enforcement” of our views upon others.

Please keep arguing…:)

Tahir

Mr Faisal. I called in Caravan today. I have a very important point to make. Where should i do so. Coz i don't want to disturb your conversation here. Its about women empowerment.

Tahir

Miss. probably you are a little confused on the issue of a role model. I 've read you discussion too. To me, a role model is a relative term. A person whom i consider to be a role model for me may be a filthy theaf to another. As I heard a young leader of PPP (you must know who) saying that " Mr. Zardari is my role model and Quaid". I hope you got my point. I would find a role model according to my desire after deciding that how do I want to lead my life.

faisalqureshi

If it’s not a private matter feel free to discuss it here. On the wall.
